Looks like snow caught the local road management by surprise. I came over the top of Old Fort Mountain this morning eastbound (probably one of the last to make it), at about 5mph, a little sideways...

There’s been quite a bit this season. It was nearly t-shirt weather a couple of weeks ago, oddly enough. Enough of a warm spell we mowed the lawn Friday before last.

Yes, the recent cold weather and the light dusting of snow we are getting in Charlotte this morning are irritating my wife who was so happy for the warm weather that we were teased with.

Here’s a picture of the remaining snow at my place of work:
Somewhere around 1400' elevation. My town is a good thousand feet higher, and the highest point of the pass is I think around 3100'.

There were 3-4" in Black Mountain at least when I left this morning. In a ‘63 Ford with no abs, tcs, or seatbelts...
